Born in Napoli (1985), Valeria Sepe is one of the most talented Italian sopranos of her generation, she won the prize “Oscar della lirica 2016 as Soprano of New Generetion”.
Sepe graduated at the Conservatory “G. F. Ghedini” in Cuneo, and attended masterclasses held by Luisa Castellani, Mariella Devia, Luciana D’Intino, Bruna Baglioni and Marcello Giordani.
The soprano launched her career from Italy, appearing in leading roles at the opera houses of Firenze, Naples, Palermo, Parma and Verona subsequently debuting in many of the world’s most famous opera companies, and working with stage directors such as Franco Zeffirelli, Giancarlo Del Monaco, Pier Francesco Maestrini, Davide Livermore and conductors such as Daniel Oren, Renato Palumbo, Nicola Luisotti, Stefano Ranzani, Francesco Ivan Ciampa, Andrea Battistoni, Giampaolo Bisanti.
Engagements of her triumphant 2018/2019 season include acclaimed performances of Mimì and Nedda at Teatro Massimo di Palermo with conductor Daniel Oren, Liù at Festival Pucciniano Torre del Lago and Nedda at Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
Moreover she having a personal success interpreting Liù in the season opening 2019 of Teatro Massimo di Palermo in a new production of Turandot, La Bohème of Opera Australia and Adriana Lecouvreur at Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari.
Other highlights include performances as Liù in Turandot and her debut in Il Trovatore (Leonora) at Bunkakaikan in Tokyo, Liù at the Opera of Hong-Kong, Manon Lescaut at Sao Paulo – Fundacao Osesp, Micaela in Carmen at Opera of Firenze and at Arena di Verona, Nedda in Pagliacci at Teatro Filarmonico di Verona and at Art Center of Seoul; Mimì in La Bohème at the Teatro Regio di Parma and at Opera of Firenze, Liù at the XXX Music International of Macao;
Desdemona in Otello of Verdi at the Opera of Hong-Kong.
Among his recent engagements we mention: Nedda at the Arena di Verona, at the Regio di Torino and at the Verdi di Trieste; Mimi at Opera Australia in Sydney; Tosca in the show by the artist Marina Abramovic "Seven Death of Maria Callas" Marina at the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples.
Her future engagements for the 2022/2023 season are: Mimì at the Teatro Bellini in Catania, Nedda at the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome and at the Teatro Regio in Parma; Madama Butterfly at the Teatro Regio in Turin and at the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples.
